I was absolutely overjoyed and incredibly proud to be a finalist for Independent Creative of the Year at the 2025 Manchester Cultural Awards, recognising my work facilitating creativity and community connection across the city.
Manchester is very much my creative home, and over the past nine years I have loved fostering creativity in libraries, community centres, schools, theatres and food pantries across the city. Through my work as a community artist and creative practitioner, I have had the privilege of bringing people together through making, encouraging creative expression and creating spaces where everyone can explore their own creativity.
Being recognised by the Manchester Cultural Awards was a hugely meaningful moment for me. It celebrated not only my individual practice, but the communities, people and creative experiences that have shaped my work over the years. I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of Manchester’s creative landscape and to continue contributing to the city I love.
