Commissioned by the wonderful charity Stand Up Sisters, I worked with the residents of Honeysuckle Lodge at Bolton Hospital to create a large-scale outdoor mural exploring wellbeing, happiness and the things that bring us joy.

We began with a series of clay workshops, using hands-on creativity to explore what makes us feel happy and well. These sessions opened up conversations and helped us develop ideas together for the design of the mural.

Over the course of three weeks, we created the piece collaboratively. The women were actively involved throughout the process, adding their own details, sharing ideas and directing what they wanted to see represented in the final artwork. Their voices, experiences and creativity are reflected in every part of the mural.

The finished piece now lives outdoors at Honeysuckle Lodge, providing a colourful reminder all year round of the power of creativity, connection and the special time we spent together making something beautiful.
